Question # 324: How do you transfer the better position from riding with no stirrups into riding with them again?

...I actually ride without them (in the saddle and bareback) quite a bit, so I don’t have any issues riding without them. But then I go back to my stirrups (mainly in dressage) and I either lose my stirrups constantly or feel like they’re way short and I start to brace/stand up in them (it’s not so much an issue when jumping because I’m in two point most of the time). Can I just do my dressage tests with no stirrups? 😂 (Kayla)


Hi Kayla!

You are certainly not alone! Many riders find it easier to sit without stirrups in Dressage, and probably quite a few riders would prefer to do their tests without them! But that is not yet allowed, unfortunately.
