Her leg also moves back and her upper body gets whipped back in the landing. As a result, she also catches her horse in the mouth. Once this starts, in anticipation of getting popped up, Bailey begins to want to hold the mare tighter on the approach, the canter gets shorter, and the mare jumps harder.
